Podcasts, Blogs and Comics, Oh My!

Editor’s Note

We’re back with some more awesome content! Today, we’re introducing you to three fantastic podcasts, a pop culture focused web comic, and a great blog, plus an interview from one of our podcast creators. As a heads up, we have quite a few interviews in progress right now, so soon we may be able to feature multiple interviews in each edition - we’re very excited for that!

Also, a small request - follow us on social media! Right now, we have a Facebook page and a Twitter. Neither are as active as they should be… but we’re working on it!

Podcast: Cheers From The Grave

Hosted by: Erica, Stephanie & Nicole

We are three nerdy ladies who love to talk about the creepy paranormal, insane conspiracy theories, and your friendly neighborhood cryptid. We're a pretty hilarious trio, even while sober (we hope)! Our episodes drop every Sunday evening.

Start with Episode 16: Ma's Burning Monsters

Podcast: Dead Ladies Show

Hosted by: Susan Stone with Katy Derbyshire and Florian Duijsens

The Dead Ladies Show Podcast is an irreverent and inspirational women's history storytelling podcast based on a live stage show that started in Berlin and is now international. We highlight both the overlooked and the infamous, because women's history is everyone's history.

Start anywhere! Episode 13: Marie Curie is very popular.

Podcast: Oh No! Lit Class

Hosted by: Megan and RJ

Oh No! Lit Class is a semi-educational comedy literature podcast that’s here to tell you all the strange and sexy things you never knew about the books you had to read in school. Hosted by two former English grads, ON!LC is a fun, foul-mouthed Sparknotes for your ears, mixing plot summaries, author bios, and trivia with bad impressions, worse singing, and occasionally even financial advice…For some reason. Learn who called Alexander Dumas “Daddy” (everyone), why the author of The Scarlet Letter got stuck shoveling poop (Ralph Waldo Emerson made him), and what Agatha Christie got up to when not writing mysteries (catching gnarly waves).

Start with Episode 13: Hamlet! REVEEEENGE!

Web Comic: Wooden Plank Studios

Created by Abel Hagen and Christiaan Albers

At Wooden Plank Studios we love everything geeky and pop culture related so we started to make a comic about it. Every week we try to capture one of the most popular topics in geek culture and make a comic about it. We're best known for our Nintendo, Marvel and Game of Thrones comics.

Start by filtering for your favorite franchise. Everybody's interest is different.

Blog: Geek Girl’s Guide to Life

Written by: Zoey K. Cole

Geek Girl’s Guide to Life is a personal blog that allows its authors to express their opinions about various topics. We have a passion for writing and creativity. All our writers are self-proclaimed geeks who are just navigating through life, on their own terms, while blogging about it.

Start with Socially Awkward: How I Handle Grief and Death.
